In the ring. Alone.
The bull, alone. History, alone.
Hairnets and tassels
fill the front row.
Barrier of wide eyes.
They open. They walk. Alone.
By himself. The bull alone.
A neoclassical facade welcomes you to the Bullring in Ronda, cradle of the modern art of bullfighting of the Eighteenth Century. The only bullring in the world with a stone barrier, it has a rich and unmistakable architecture, characterized by its double series of arches with Tuscan columns. Pedro Romero and Pepe Illo inaugurated the legendary character that has always been part of this ring where its Goyaesque Bullfight takes place every year. It is not difficult to understand why its unique personality has captivated important figures of the world of culture and the arts, such as Ernest Hemingway and Orson Welles.
