The Palacio de los Condes de Buenavista (Palace of the Counts of Buenavista) is home to the Museo Picasso Málaga, which contains the biggest private collection of the author with a total of 204 works donated by the family. The building, of Renaissance and Mudejar style, was erected in the 16th century on Phoenician, Roman and Arab archaeological remains. Nowadays, its 8,300 m2 are divided into theme spaces intended for different uses and suitable for holding unusual events: exhibition room, auditorium with capacity for 172 people, reading room, central courtyard, covered courtyard and garden.
